The main model is a telehandler with all the details possible in this size of sets. This one even has a small cabin with seat. The HOG-steering is at the back of the cabin at a convenient place for play. The luffing boom can be moved with a black 12 tooth gear at the back of the telehandler. Finally the color pallet is with fresh azure blue hints, making it a great set for play. Due to the well balanced number of different parts you can make yourself or find a plethora of alternative builds on internet or www.rebrickable.com specifically. The second model is a tow truck, with steering as well.

Features

Steering

The steering is far from conventional. With a gear on top of the cabin a liftarm, under the vehicle, is moved linked to the right wheel base. The liftarm can pull and push the steering mechanism. Not conventional because of the lack of any type of gear rack normally found in steering mechanisms. Advantage is that with this mechanism the steering function can be very compact. The Blue Technic, Axle 1L with Pin, is meant to have an equal swing to both sides.

Luffing Boom

The luffing boom can be positioned from horizontal up to an almost 60 degree angle. The mechanism is based on a combination of a worm-gear driving a gear 8 tooth linked to a lever. This creates a movement which is pretty stable and minimum wiggle to be able to precisely position the pallet on a truck or in a warehouse rack.Due to the double 'bone' construction the forks stay in the same position.

Fork Tipping

The forks are manually driven. The set is to small to add a mechanism to move the forks. Again a double bone construction. Due to the use of 3L pin with friction and axle/pin with friction you can position the forks and keep them in that position. However to a certain extend. When you have to much load on the pallet the friction can't keep up. But this will hardly happen with these small sets.

Wheels and Tires

This set contains 4 sets of wheels and tires of type:

  • Black Tire 30.4 x 14 Offset Tread - Band Around Center of Tread
  • White Wheel 18mm D. x 14mm with Pin Hole, Fake Bolts and Shallow Spokes
These are the smallest wheels possible for sets with steering. The sets with even smaller wheel and tire lack in general steering.
